Have your say on the progress review of the Drone Strategy 2.0

The European Commission is inviting citizens and stakeholders alike to support the progress review of the Drone Strategy 2.0 by sharing their views on the future of Europe's drone ecosystem.

Adopted in November 2022, the Drone Strategy 2.0 set out a vision for a user-centred, innovative and competitive European drone ecosystem delivering economic, societal and security benefits. Since the Strategy's adoption, the global drone and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft landscape has evolved significantly. Rapid technological developments, changing market conditions and new policy developments have reshaped the operating environment. The progress review will assess the implementation and continued relevance of the Strategy.

Two complementary consultations are open from today until 6 September 2026.

  • Citizens are encouraged to participate in the open public consultation, sharing their views on the use of drones, including any benefits, concerns and expectations they perceive regarding their role in society.
  • Professionals across the drone ecosystem - including manufacturers, operators, service providers, financing institutions and public authorities - are invited to complete the stakeholder survey, providing technical and market perspectives to support the Commission in its assessment.

The evidence gathered through both consultations will contribute to the progress review of the Drone Strategy 2.0 and help inform future policy development for the European drone sector.
