Don’t lose your vote – residents in Angus urged to check voter registration details

Published on Friday 24 July 2026

Residents in Angus are being urged to check their electoral registration details or risk losing their chance to vote on decisions that affect them.

The Electoral Registration Officer is contacting every household to check that the electoral register is up to date, and to identify any residents who should be registered but are currently missing.

Households across Angus that have provided the Electoral Registration Officer with an email address are currently being contacted by email to clarify whether the information held for the named electors at the property is still correct.

The email provides full information on how to respond securely using the appropriate web address.

All other households will be posted a letter and/or form throughout August 2026 and should follow the instructions contained within.

The annual canvass is carried out each year to make sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate and up to date. To make sure they do not lose their say at upcoming elections, residents should simply follow the instructions sent to them.

Anyone who is not currently registered will not appear in the messages sent to their property. If they want to register, the easiest way is online at register to vote.

Residents with questions about their registration status can contact the Electoral Registration Officer for Angus Council by calling 01307 499910 or emailing [email protected].
