Learn About Pasadena’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance at the September 9 Workshop

PASADENA, Calif - With important updates to Pasadena's Rent Stabilization Ordinance taking effect Oct. 1, the City invites tenants and landlords to join this month's workshop to stay informed about what's changing. This session will also serve as a refresher on the core provisions of the Ordinance, established by Charter Amendment Article XVIII, ensuring attendees understand both the foundation and the latest policy updates.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Los Robles Building, located at 199 S. Los Robles Ave., Conference Room, first floor. Participants may attend in person or virtually via Zoom by visiting Bit.ly/MonthlyRSDWorkshops .

This session will cover:

  • Annual General Adjustment (AGA): Beginning Oct. 1, 2025, landlords of rent-stabilized units may increase rent by up to 2.25%, in accordance with the new AGA rate.
  • Updated Relocation Assistance Amounts: New payment schedules will go into effect for eligible households and special circumstances households, reflecting updated cost-of-living adjustments.
  • Security Deposit Interest Rate: A revised annual interest rate for security deposits will take effect, with updated guidance for landlords on calculating and issuing interest payments.
  • Charter Amendment Overview: A summary of tenant protections, rent caps, and landlord responsibilities as outlined in Charter Article XVIII.

This workshop offers a timely opportunity for renters and housing providers to learn about recent updates, ask questions, and ensure compliance with Pasadena's rent stabilization laws. Rent Stabilization Department staff will be available to answer questions and provide resources.

Metered street parking is available on Euclid Ave. and Los Robles Ave. Additional unvalidated parking is available in the garage below the Rent Stabilization Department building (entrance on Cordova St.) and at the Paseo parking lot (300 E.
