MACQUARIE STREET TO REOPEN AS EXCLUSION ZONE IS AMENDED

NSW Police have advised the public of a change to the exclusion zone in the Dubbo CBD, following an incident with a crane on Thursday afternoon.

From 6pm on Friday, 27 March, work will begin to remove barriers and reopen Macquarie Street to business owners, pedestrians and vehicles.

Full access will be available to the street for Friday night and Saturday morning trade, depending on business operating hours.

Exclusion zones will remain in place in Bligh Street and along the Tracker Riley Shared Pathway over the coming days.

Bligh Street will be closed between Church Street and Wingewarra Street with barriers and detour signage to assist motorists and pedestrians in the area. This closure will remain in place over the coming days.

Changes to the exclusion zone may be made to assist recovery efforts early next week.

Police are asking residents who have vehicles remaining in the exclusion zone to go to the nearest closure point and make arrangements with police on the ground to collect their vehicle.

NSW Police have asked the community to respect the exclusion zone for their own safety.

It is anticipated this exclusion zone will remain in place over the weekend, and updates will be provided to the community next week for any changes to the recovery process.
