CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Today, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced the appointment of Assistant Boone County Prosecutor Elliot Workman of Madison, W.Va. to serve as Family Court Judge for West Virginia's 10th Family Court Circuit covering Boone and Lincoln counties.

In addition to Workman's role as a prosecutor, she also brings to the bench extensive experience in private practice, frequently serving as a Guardian Ad Litem to represent the best interests of children in court proceedings. Her background includes extensive work in family law, criminal law, and Child Protective Services (CPS) cases. She also previously served as a Mental Hygiene Commissioner, where she presided over matters involving individuals and families in crisis.

Workman was recently honored with the 2025 Children's Flag Community Recognition Award by the Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center in Boone County for her work with juveniles and families.

Workman is a graduate of West Virginia State University and Capital University Law School.

She replaces Judge Bobby R. Hale, who recently retired.
