Forbes Names BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to its 2026 Best in State Employers List

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - For the eighth year in a row, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has appeared on Forbes' list of best employers in Tennessee , earning the #31 spot out of 80 employers across the state.

BlueCross has appeared on the Forbes list every year since 2019, on multiple occasions ranking among the highest-recommended Blue plans nationally. Earlier this year, Forbes also named the company to its 2026 America's Best Large Employers list.

To compile the Best Employers by State list, Forbes partnered with research firm Statista. Survey respondents were asked to rate their employers on a scale of zero to 10 based on criteria like wages and benefits, management style, career advancement opportunities and company reputation. Respondents also evaluated employers they'd worked for within the past two years, as well as organizations they knew within their industry or through family and friends who worked there.

The list is divided into 51 rankings, one for each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. It was compiled by surveying more than 245,000 U.S. employees working for businesses with at least 500 employees.

The final list ranked the 1,365 employers nationwide that received the highest scores based on recommendations.
