Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Bloomsburg named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for 2026

DANVILLE, Pa. -
Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital have been named to Newsweek's list of America Best Maternity Hospitals 2026 .

The list of 460 leading hospitals was determined through a rigorous evaluation of quality metrics, patient surveys and a survey of hospital managers and medical professionals with knowledge about maternity hospitals.

"The recognition of Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Bloomsburg for maternity care is a tribute to our staff of physicians and caregivers who work to make our hospital the best," said Sandra Culbertson, MD, chair of the Geisinger Women and Children's Institute. "Our maternity teams continue to deliver the highest quality care to families in our communities."

Geisinger Medical Center received five ribbons, which means it received greater than 80% in quality metrics and patient experience. Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital received four ribbons, meaning it scored higher than 70%.

In 2025, 1,851 babies were born at Geisinger Medical Center, while 398 babies were born at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.
