GREENSBORO, NC (June 14, 2026) - Greensboro Police arrested a 24-year-old woman in connection with a crash that injured two people on a moped early Sunday.
GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded shortly before 3 a.m. to Spring Garden Street near Eula Street to a crash with serious injuries.
Makayla Kaitlynn Ouboun Theng, of Graham, was driving a Lexus SUV west on Spring Garden Street near Eula Street. A man and woman on a moped were traveling west on Spring Garden Street when the driver of the SUV made a U-turn in front of the moped, resulting in a collision.
The man and women on the moped suffered serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Theng was arrested and charged with driving while impaired and failing to yield resulting in serious injury.
The Greensboro Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit responded and is handling the investigation.
