The Boise Airport (BOI) invites community members, airport users, businesses and other stakeholders to attend the first of three Master Plan public open houses on Thursday, June 25. This event will provide an opportunity to learn about the planning process currently underway and provide input to help guide the long-term development of the Boise Airport.
The Master Plan is a comprehensive, facility-focused study that is evaluating existing airport conditions and forecasts of future aviation activity to identify potential facility needs required to safely and efficiently serve Boise and the surrounding region over the next 20 years. The Master Plan is examining the airfield, terminal, landside roads and supporting infrastructure to determine where improvements, maintenance or expansion may be needed to accommodate anticipated growth, evolving aircraft technology, compatible land use and changing airline needs.
The objective of the Master Plan is to establish clear, measurable actions to support the Boise Airport's long-term strategic vision. The study will serve as a practical guide for implementation, allowing progress to be tracked through defined benchmarks and timelines. By aligning development with operational, environmental and community considerations, the plan will ensure future investments remain purposeful, accountable and adaptable.
The open house format allows attendees to review planning materials at their own pace, speak one-on-one with airport staff and the consultant team, and provide comments and questions which will be considered as the planning process moves forward.
The Master Plan process will have three opportunities for public review and comment:
Additional details for future meetings, will be announced on the Boise Airport website and social media channels.
In addition to public engagement, the study includes coordination with technical advisory and working groups and is conducted in collaboration with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
