The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that, to facilitate construction work associated with the I-95 Interchange 74 Improvements in East Lyme, the Exit 74 northbound on-ramp and Exit 75 southbound on-ramp will be temporarily closed between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on the following days:
Exit 74 Northbound Off-Ramp
Nighttime ramp closures on Sunday, October 4, Monday, October 5, Tuesday, October 6, Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Exit 74 Northbound On-Ramp
Nighttime ramp closures on Monday, October 5, Tuesday, October 6, Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8, 2026. During this closure, traffic and left turns onto the ramp will be eliminated.
Exit 75 Southbound On-Ramp
Nighttime ramp closures on Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Detour Information
Exit 74 Northbound Off-Ramp
Continue on I-95 northbound, take Exit 81, turn left onto Waterford Parkway, turn left onto Cross Road, turn left onto Parkway North, turn onto I-95 southbound entrance ramp and take Exit 74 to access Route 161.
Exit 74 Northbound On-Ramp
Motorists should continue on Route 161 north, turn onto Route 1, turn left onto Cross Road, turn left onto Waterford Parkway, take entrance ramp to I-95 northbound.
Exit 75 Southbound On-Ramp
Motorists should continue on Route 1 south, turn left onto Route 161 south, and turn right onto New Frontage Road followed by a left onto the I-95 southbound entrance ramp.
CTDOT Project No. 0044-0156 was awarded to Manafort Brothers at a cost of $148,000,000 on February 1, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
