GPD Investigation - Norfolk-Southern Incident
GREENSBORO, NC (July 21, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating the death of an individual who was reported to have been struck by a train Monday evening.
GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS were dispatched at approximately 9:16 p.m. Monday to the area of Eugene Street and Spring Garden Street for a train-related incident. They located an unresponsive individual on the train tracks and began rendering aid. EMS pronounced the individual dead at the scene a short time later.
The person's identity is being withheld until next-of-kin is notified.
Further details are not immediately available.
Norfolk-Southern Police are also investigating.
