Sole proprietors are now eligible to apply for grant funding as part of Hillsboro's Small Business Stabilization Program. Hillsboro City Council created the program in response to community concerns about the harmful impact of federal immigration enforcement on local businesses in Hillsboro.
Applications open Monday, May 18 and close Friday, June 5. Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded to businesses located in the City of Hillsboro with a City of Hillsboro business license.
Eligible industries include restaurants, mobile food services, food markets, bakeries, grocery stores, and retail stores.
A total of $60,000 in funds will be awarded through community-based organizations Adelante Mujeres, Centro Cultural, and Washington County Chamber of Commerce. Applicants can submit an application to one of the three organizations listed below to be considered.
This round of funding is only open to sole proprietors.

The Small Business Stabilization Program aims to stabilize and retain small businesses in the community, especially those seeing a reduction in customer base resulting from ICE activity or experiencing economic instability.
The City of Hillsboro works only with the organizations specifically identified within the grant application and related program materials. Organizations or individuals not expressly listed are not authorized representatives of the City of Hillsboro for purposes of this program.
