Rep. Subramanyam Secures $26 Million For Manassas Regional, $41 Million for Dulles International Airports

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) announced today that he, along with the Commonwealth's U.S. Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, has secured $26 million to replace the 82-year old Air Traffic Control Tower at Manassas Regional Airport and $41.8 million for Washington Dulles International Airport to partially fund a new 14 gate, 400,000 square foot terminal building which will include connections to the Aerotrain and Metro.

"This critical infrastructure funding for Manassas Regional Airport will provide a safe, up-to-date air traffic control tower. This is vital for Manassas, which is the busiest general aviation airport in Virginia and the reliever airport for Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Investing in Manassas Regional Airport will not only make our skies and community safer, but also bring in jobs and help grow our local economy. The funding for Dulles, along with the funding for Manassas, will continue to support our region's status as an international aviation hub," said Congressman Suhas Subramanyam.

Earlier this year, Rep. Subramanyam, and Senators Kaine and Warner pushed the Federal Aviation Administration to approve this much-needed funding. You can view the letter here.
