Convicted Felon Arrested for October Shooting in Edgehill

Investigation by Non-Lethal Shooting Unit detectives resulted in the arrest of convicted felon Antiwane Smith, 43, for the October 11 shooting of a 49-year-old man in the 1100 block of DeFord Bailey Avenue.

Surveillance video showed the suspect, armed with a pistol, slowly approaching the area where the victim was shot. The victim positively identified Smith as the shooter.

Smith, who has prior felony drug possession convictions, is charged with attempted criminal homicide, felon in possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony. He remains jailed on $185,000 bond.
