Creative Economy Days Become Main Platform for Dialogue Between CIS Countries

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), an agreement was signed between the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS (IPA CIS), the Federation Council Commission for the Creative Industries and Folk Arts, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation.

The document was signed by Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS) Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council and Head of the Federation Council Commission on Creative Industries and Folk Arts Inna Svyatenko, General Director of ASI Svetlana Chupsheva and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russian Federation Tatyana Ilyushnikova.

The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the development of the creative economy, expand international partnerships, and promote the exchange of best practices. A key joint initiative will be the Creative Economy Days, a platform designed to integrate Russian creative industries into the global agenda and foster dialogue across the CIS region.

Inna Svyatenko noted that the project reflects the SPIEF theme, "Pragmatic Dialogue as the Path to a Stable Future," and will bring together representatives of all 16 creative industry sectors, from gastronomy to traditional crafts.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy emphasized that the agreement would support closer cooperation among CIS countries through harmonized legislation and a common legal framework, helping remove barriers and create favorable conditions for the growth of creative industries.

Svetlana Chupsheva highlighted the sector's potential to drive economic growth, create new career opportunities, strengthen international cooperation, and open new markets for Russian producers.

According to Tatyana Ilyushnikova, the development of creative industries requires ongoing dialogue between federal and regional authorities, experts, and businesses to align approaches and work toward shared goals.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Head of the Organizational Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Fashion International Forum Diana Survilaite.
