Investigation Launched on Undertakings Operating in the Plant Protection or Plant Nutrition Products Market

In accordance with the Competition Board Decision dated 06.08.2026 and numbered 26-28/802-M, an investigation has been launched on undertakings operating in the plant protection or plant nutrition products market, including Adama Turkey Tarım Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd Şti., Agrobest Grup Tarım İlaçları Tohumculuk İmalat İthalat İhracat Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, Agrofarm Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, AMC-TR Tarım Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, Astranova Tarım Ticaret ve Sanayi AŞ, BASF Agricultural Solutions Turkey Kimya Ticaret AŞ, Ertar Kimya Tarım Ürünleri ve Aletleri İmalat Pazarlama Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti., the economic unity composed of Ferbis Tarım Ticaret ve Sanayi AŞ and Sunset Kimya Tarım Ürünleri ve Aletleri İmalat ve Pazarlama Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, FMC Turkey Endüstri Ürünleri Sanayi Ltd. Şti., Koruma Tarım AŞ, Lances Link Kimya ve İlaç Sanayi Ticaret AŞ, Nufarm Turkey Kimyevi Maddeler İthalat ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Platin Kimya Mümessillik ve Dış Tic. AŞ, Safa Tarım AŞ, UPL Ziraat ve Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şti., Sumi Agro Turkey Tarım İlaçları Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, Syngenta Tarım Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited AŞ, and Tarkim Bitki Koruma Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, in order to determine whether they violated Article 4 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition (Act no 4054) by exchanging competitively sensitive information.

Plant protection products are designed to guard plants against bugs, diseases and harmful organisms, while plant nutrition products are intended to provide plants with essential nutrients and improve physiological processes, thereby increasing fertility and productivity.

The investigation aims to examine the potential effects on competition of the sharing, among undertakings operating in the relevant markets, of various competitively sensitive information, such as product prices and sales volumes, targets to be achieved as well as payment terms and discount rates applied. In this context, whether such information exchange is capable of reducing strategic uncertainty among competitors, leading to coordination among competitors in the plant nutrition or plant protection markets, will be assessed under Article 4 of the Act no 4054.
