College life comes with a lot to keep track of, and knowing a few campus tips can make your daily routine a little easier. Whether you're looking for shortcuts to get around campus, trying to save time between classes, or hoping to make the most of the resources available to you as a BU student, there are plenty of helpful tricks worth knowing. From using FitRec and Terrier Transit to taking advantage of student perks, these small hacks can make a big difference.

1. Sign Up for a PDP Class at FitRec

Like working out? FitRec offers a variety of workout options, and drop-in classes are available year-round. It's an easy way to incorporate exercise into your routine while taking advantage of one of BU's campus resources. Registered full-time (undergrad and graduate) Boston University students can sign up for one free physical education class per semester.

2. Check Laundry Availability Before You Go

Don't waste time walking to the laundry room only to find that every washer and dryer is taken. Use the laundry web link on MyBU to check which machines are available before heading down. It's a simple way to make your dreaded laundry day a little less of a hassle.

3. Order Food and Coffee Ahead of Time

The Grubhub app can help you skip the rush at on-campus dining spots. Order your food or coffee ahead of time and pick it up between classes instead of waiting in line during the busy before- and after-class periods.

4. Track the Terrier Transit Bus

Wondering when the bus will actually arrive? Download the Terrier Transit app to see when your bus is expected to get there. The BU Bus app can be especially helpful when you're trying to get across campus and don't want to spend extra time waiting at the stop. You can find bus details here.

5. Stay Dry on Rainy Days

When the weather isn't cooperating, use the College of Arts & Sciences building to easily get from the Granby Street intersection to Marsh Plaza while staying inside. It's a helpful option for getting where you need to go without getting wet.

6. Get $9 Red Sox Tickets

Calling all baseball fans: BU students can sign up for Student Nines using their BU email to get $9 tickets to Red Sox games at Fenway Park. It's a great way to take advantage of living in Boston and catch a game just steps away from campus.

7. Get a Free New York Times Subscription

Your BU credentials can also get you access to a free New York Times subscription through the BU Library. Whether you're keeping up with current events or just looking for something to read, it's one more resource available to students.

8. Visit the Yawkey Center for Student Services

Need help with something career- or academic-related? The Yawkey Center for Student Services is a place to go for resources related to both. Keep it in mind as you look for support throughout your time at BU.

9. Take the Secret Shortcut Between StuVi1 and StuVi2

If you're walking between StuVi1 and StuVi2, there's a pathway behind Agganis Arena that connects the two buildings. The shortcut can save you time compared with walking around Commonwealth Avenue.

10. Follow Boston University on Instagram

Want to stay in the know about what's happening around campus? Follow Boston University on Instagram for updates and information about campus events and activities. It's an easy way to keep up with what's going on throughout the year.
