18-Year-Old Male Deceased After Fatal Motorcycle Collision

On September 20^th, 2026, around 8:40 P.M., Spokane police officers responded to a single vehicle motorcycle collision at N. Ash St and W. Courtland Ave. Multiple 911 callers reported the accident, and stated CPR was in progress.

When officers arrived SFD was already on scene performing life saving measures. Despite their efforts the young man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial information suggests the 18-year-old driver was travelling at a high rate of speed before he struck a light pole. A witness informed officers that the driver of the motorcycle, as well as other vehicles at the scene, appeared to be racing and were observed driving in a reckless manner prior to the accident.

Major Crimes Unit was notified and responded to the scene. The roads were shut down for several hours as they conducted their investigation.

The Medical Examiners Officer has released the identity along with the cause of death of the deceased.

The loss of this young man's life is a devastating reminder of how quickly things can go wrong when not driving in a safe manner. Slow down and get home safe. Spokane's streets are not made for racing.
