Georgia Department of Driver Services Helps Customers to Save Time and Money with Remote Services

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is encouraging customers to take advantage of convenient remote services that make handling driver's license and identification card transactions easier than ever. By using DDS Online Services and self-service kiosks, located in DDS Centers and grocery stores across the state, customers can save both time and travel expenses. Plus, transactions completed remotely receive a $5.00 discount - adding to the overall savings!

Most services, including license renewals, address changes and replacing a lost license, can be completed quickly online or at a self-service kiosk in minutes. These convenient alternatives provide customers with flexible service options that fit into their busy schedules without the need to wait in line. Customers will receive a temporary paper license or ID valid for driving, and a permanent card is mailed to the home address within ten days.

"DDS is committed to making government services more convenient, efficient, and accessible for every Georgian," said DDS Commissioner Angelique B. McClendon. "By offering remote service options, customers can complete many transactions from home or while running errands at their local grocery store. These convenient services help eliminate unnecessary trips to a DDS Center, saving customers both valuable time and money."

There have been 427,828 successful transactions completed online and via customer service kiosks in 2026.

DDS self-service kiosks are conveniently located in DDS Customer Service Centers as well as in participating Kroger and Publix grocery stores. Locate a kiosk near you by visiting the DDS website at https://dds.georgia.gov/locations/store-kiosk.
