Salesforce Quarterly Highlights: FY27 Q2 Product Releases and Corporate Announcements

August 26, 2026 4 min read

AI adoption is surging and intelligence is now abundant. However, the context and trust to turn that intelligence into reliable work are still scarce.

To take action across the enterprise, agents and humans need the same foundation, built on context, workflows, controls, governance, orchestration, and trust. Without these things, tech investments don't deliver expected results. To take just one example, a recent PwC survey found that 87% of operations and supply chain leaders at U.S. companies say that poor data quality has hampered progress in achieving value for digital initiatives.

The Salesforce platform provides that foundation wherever work happens - through our Customer 360 apps, Agentforce, Slack, and Headless 360.

Product updates:

  • Agentic Advisor: Salesforce's new suite of agentic capabilities, built natively on Agentforce for Financial Services, enables wealth advisors to leverage autonomous AI agents that handle routine work across the client lifecycle, including meeting preparation, summaries, and updating records. This frees advisors to spend more time with clients, build deeper relationships, and deliver personalized guidance at scale. GA now.
  • Agentforce Commerce: Customers now find products in ChatGPT, TikTok, and dozens of other places, and Salesforce's new Agentforce Commerce innovations are built to meet them there. Agentic Commerce Search, built on the Cimulate acquisition, brings AI-native, intent-based discovery to any storefront, while new integrations connect product catalogs directly to ChatGPT, Google Search (including AI Mode), and the Gemini app. New purpose-built agents power shopping, buying, and merchandising - guiding shoppers from discovery through checkout and service; meeting B2B buyers in WhatsApp and SMS; and helping merchant teams run promotions, organize catalogs, and respond to trends in natural language. Together, these innovations represent Salesforce's biggest Commerce release in five years, spanning B2C and B2B Commerce, Order Management, and Point of Sale. GA now.
  • Agentforce Help Agent: To help enterprises resolve customer issues from start to finish, Salesforce launched Agentforce Help Agent, which deploys in minutes with guided setup. Optimized for voice and scalable across all channels - web, portal, and messaging - the autonomous agent is built with a library of available actions that run on real workflows to manage cases, schedule appointments, and update orders. And with pay-per-resolution pricing, customers are only charged when Agentforce Help Agent resolves an issue autonomously, without the need for human intervention. GA now.
  • New MCP servers connect Salesforce's Headless 360 platform to Slackbot: Thanks to dedicated new MCP servers from Salesforce, Slackbot can now reason across the entire Headless 360 platform and the tools your team already uses - all in one place. Teams can now run the entire Salesforce CRM motion within a Slack conversation; democratize access to data-powered insights and actions through Data 360 and Tableau Next MCP servers; and add every app and its agents, including those from Anthropic, Atlassian, and Box, into their Slack channels just like teammates. GA now.
  • Informatica extends headless data management across leading AI and data platforms: Informatica unveiled fully headless data management, making trusted data capabilities available as reusable, governed services that AI agents can invoke across any platform, workflow, or interface through native MCP support. It also expanded collaborations with AWS, Databricks, Google Cloud, Microsoft, and Snowflake, embedding headless data management, CLAIRE AI, and trusted data services into leading cloud, AI, and data platforms while extending governance, master data, open-format, and analytics capabilities for reliable, context-rich agentic workflows. GA now.

Customer Zero and talent management:

  • Commitment to hiring 1,000 AI-native grads: To build an AI-ready workforce, Salesforce committed to hiring 1,000 new graduates and interns to build the future of Agentforce. The new Builder program, driven by Futureforce, Salesforce's global university recruitment program, will fast-track AI-native talent into hands-on, high-impact positions across engineering, product, sales, and more.

Investments:

  • Salesforce Ventures: Salesforce Ventures continues to back the companies at the forefront of the AI revolution, deploying capital across critical frontiers including infrastructure, robotics, and foundational models. Q2 highlights included follow-on funding for Anthropic and Lovable alongside new investments in Supabase, Mind Robotics, and more.

Mergers and acquisitions:

  • Contentful: Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Contentful, a leading composable content platform trusted by over 4,800 of the world's leading brands to deliver personalized digital experiences at scale. The acquisition will enhance Salesforce's Headless 360 with a native, enterprise-grade content layer that connects customer data with engaging content experiences across Salesforce's leading applications. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of required regulatory approvals.
  • m3ter: Salesforce completed its acquisition of m3ter, a leading metering and rating platform purpose-built for consumption-based billing at enterprise scale. The acquisition brings m3ter's high-scale mediation, metering, and rating capabilities natively to Salesforce, adding the deep flexibility enterprises need to launch, track, scale, and bill the usage and outcome-based pricing models required for the AI era.
  • Fin: Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Fin, a customer agent platform providing autonomous, end-to-end AI service agents trusted by more than 30,000 companies globally to resolve customer queries at scale. The acquisition will complement Agentforce, providing powerful service agent capabilities across all customer channels, enabling companies to become agentic enterprises and accelerating time-to-value with trusted agents. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including the receipt of required regulatory approvals.
