Contra Costa County - Caltrans has updated its construction schedule for the Appian Way overcrossings above Interstate 80 (I-80) in Pinole, related to PG&E gas line deactivation. The work was initially planned for six nights, and from Sunday, July 26, 2026, through August 1, 2026, was delayed due to coordination challenges. The new schedule is now Monday July 27, 2026, through Sunday August 2, 2026, at 10 A.M, it will include overnight closures affecting local traffic as well as planned lane and ramp closures between Tara Hills Drive and Fitzgerald Drive. Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers to be aware of these closures. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, and plan extra travel time.
