Coulter Condemns Threats Against AICC in Madison Heights

Pontiac, Mich. - Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter released the following statement denouncing the threats made against the American Islamic Community Center in Madison Heights:

"There is no place for intimidation or threats of violence in Oakland County. Every resident has the right to worship freely and safely.

"The threatening messages directed at the American Islamic Community Center in Madison Heights are deeply disturbing and must be taken seriously. Words that threaten violence are not protected expressions of disagreement - they are hate crimes that undermine the safety and security of our entire county.

"Oakland County stands firmly with our Muslim neighbors and with all communities that have experienced acts of hate. We are grateful to law enforcement for their swift response and commitment to holding those responsible accountable."
