Quick work by South Precinct officers led to the apprehension of a shooting suspect Thursday evening who injured a 34-year-old man in the Napier community. Andrew Burns, 40, remains jailed this morning on $160,000 bond after he is alleged to have shot towards two men outside of a home on Charles E. Davis Boulevard, striking the 34-year-old in the leg.
Burns was located by officers a short time later near Lafayette Street where he fled and tossed a loaded handgun, which was later recovered. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and weapon possession.
