By partnering with a local company on a real-world marketing campaign, Lucy Bowers is preparing for a future in business management.
Lucy Bowers is a junior at EWU, majoring in business management. Passionate about turning theory into practice, she excels in applied learning environments that connect classroom concepts with real-world business challenges.
Currently, Bowers is enrolled in a marketing class where her team collaborates with a local business to design and test a targeted marketing campaign. She leads the digital ad messaging strategy and helps track key metrics-including reach, engagement, and conversion-throughout the quarter. At the end of the project, the team will present a final implementation plan and budget recommendations to the business owner.
For Bowers, the partnership offers valuable hands-on experience in campaign planning, execution, and performance analysis-areas of marketing she finds especially rewarding. Through case studies and projects, Bowers has developed practical skills in strategic planning and operational efficiency. She consistently seeks opportunities to apply her knowledge in collaborative academic settings that mirror real workplace environments.
"I've learned a lot about the importance of organization and time management, especially if you want to succeed."
In addition to her studies, Bowers is an active member of EWU's club volleyball team, balancing the demands of athletics with her academic commitments. The experience has sharpened her time-management abilities, resilience, and teamwork skills-qualities she frequently draws upon in group projects and leadership roles.
Her academic interests center on project management, a field she is eager to explore further through internships and specialized coursework. She is particularly fascinated by the processes of initiating, planning, and executing projects that drive organizational success. Ultimately, Bowers aims to build a strong foundation in business management and pursue a career in project management.
Focused and community-oriented, Bowers embodies the spirit of a well-rounded student at EWU, combining academic excellence, athletic dedication, and a clear vision for her future in business.
