This Is What I Do!

There are thousands of employees that keep the City running each day. The video series, "This Is What I Do," highlights some of our unsung heroes and the work they're proud to be doing.

Our latest episode features Miya Hurley, an Animal Control Supervisor in the Raleigh Police Department. You may have heard her featured on the Your City, Answered podcast - if not, check out the quick episode!

Miya helps reunite stray animals with their owners, helps sick and injured wildlife, and maintains public safety. This includes enforcing leash laws and making sure animals are vaccinated. She also engages with the public at events like the Great Pup Meetup, where she can talk to residents about what she does and provide resources and safety tips.

This is a dream job for Miya. She has always wanted to work with animals in this capacity, so this is truly a perfect fit for her. Watch the video to meet Miya and learn more!
