The Stafford County Treasurer's Office is adding passport services to its many offerings to better assist residents. Beginning June 8, the Stafford County Treasurer's Office will officially open as a Passport Acceptance Facility, providing residents with a convenient option for passport services.
"We are pleased to expand services for Stafford County residents by providing a local, convenient option for passport processing," said Mike Sienkowski, Stafford County Treasurer. "My office is always looking for ways we can better meet the needs of our residents."
The new service will allow residents to apply for first-time passports, renew passports for minors, replace lost or stolen passports and complete other passport-related transactions locally at the Treasurer's Office.
Passport acceptance services will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appointments are encouraged to ensure prompt service. Residents can schedule an appointment online.
Passport photos will also be available on-site for $15.
Applicants are encouraged to review passport requirements before their appointment. The most current information regarding required forms, identification, photographs, processing times and eligibility for mail renewal is available through the U.S. Department of State.
Applicants should arrive prepared with completed forms, proof of citizenship, identification documents and applicable fees.
