Leadership structured for growth

Dear Colleagues,

As Rowan University continues to be recognized as a national model for public higher education and meets the needs of our state and region, having agile leadership ensures that we can anticipate and respond to opportunities for growth. In this dynamic environment, we remain committed to aligning our organizational structure to best support our strategic goals and the evolving needs of our University community.

Recently, we announced Terri Drye, would shift her focus to her role as chief administrative officer of Virtua Health College of Medicine & Life Sciences and senior associate dean for Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, refining her responsibilities (that had included institutional human resources and the University Police Department) to center on advancing VHC with her extensive leadership experience in major health care systems.

With this transition, Henry Oh, associate vice president for Human Resources, has been appointed interim vice president for Human Resources. As interim vice president, Mr. Oh will report directly to Joe Scully, senior vice president for Finance and chief financial officer. This reorganization brings together our Finance and Human Resources divisions under unified leadership, positioning Rowan for greater operational efficiency and long-term success. Mr. Scully will work closely with the Human Resources team to assess and support the university's needs as we continue to grow.

To reflect our unwavering commitment to safety throughout our campuses and ensure that public safety remains a top priority within the Office of the President, Mike Kantner, assistant vice president for Public Safety and Emergency Management, will now report directly to Chief of Staff RJ Tallarida. The direct relationship emphasizes our dedication to safety and well-being on all our campuses and in our host communities.

I appreciate the deep commitment of each leader, especially those in this transition, to our mission and look forward to the progress we will make together. I am confident these changes will strengthen our leadership team and enhance our ability to serve the Rowan community.

Sincerely,

Ali A. Houshmand, Ph.D.
President
