Empowering the next generation: Zoom's $5 million commitment to AI education

On September 4, 2025, Zoom CEO Eric Yuan joined other technology leaders to attend the White House Task Force meeting on AI education and support the Pledge to America's Youth, a commitment to help prepare today's students for a world where AI skills are as foundational as math or reading.

At Zoom, we believe AI can strengthen and transform education, not replace it. It should free teachers to focus on teaching, give students more personalized learning experiences, and help families feel confident that their children are developing the skills that matter for the future. Building on our history of keeping classrooms connected during the pandemic and supporting hybrid learning today, we're committed to helping the next generation thrive in an AI-powered world.

"In a world where AI competency is increasingly becoming a key driver of career success, students need to be equipped with skills to put this technology to work for them in a safe and effective manner," said Yuan. "Our goal is to make AI accessible and helpful for everyone by using it to streamline tasks for educators, personalize learning for students, and equip young people with the skills they'll need for tomorrow's careers."

An investment in the future of learning

As part of the AI Education Pledge, Zoom is dedicating $5 million over three yearsto support K-12 education through carefully targeted cash grants and product donations to outstanding nonprofits and education institutions working at the national and local level. This initiative focuses on three key areas:

  • AI literacy:Funding programs that teach K-12 students about AI and creating accessible resources for all.
  • AI career pathways:Supporting internships and courses to help students explore and pursue careers in AI, especially for underrepresented groups.
  • Workforce development:Providing upskilling and retraining aligned with industry needs for workers and job seekers.

Joining forces for the next generation

Zoom is proud to join other tech leaders in this effort. By participating, we're helping to ensure the next generation is ready to not just adapt to AI, but to lead its development. As Yuan noted, "Zoom continues to be a leader in keeping students, teachers, and parents connected and providing safe and secure AI tools to help with learning and administrative tasks. "We believe that, by working together, we can give future generations the skills they need to drive innovation".
