ADVISORY - SCRANTON - Shapiro Administration to Highlight How $9 Million State Investment in Free Period Products is Keeping Students Focused on Learning

Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen will visit West Scranton High School to highlight how the Shapiro Administration's historic investment in free period products for all schools is continuing to eliminate barriers to education, ensuring female students can focus on learning.

With another $3 million in the 2026-27 state budget, Governor Josh Shapiro has now secured $9 million for free period products over three consecutive years.

This sustained, first-of-its-kind funding equips more than 750 school districts, intermediate units, career and technical centers, and charter schools with reliable access to essential hygiene products.
