Pennington CTE Scholarship Application Opens in Advance of Fall Semester

Western Nevada College students pursuing Career and Technical Education programs can now apply for financial support through the William N. Pennington Career and Technical Education Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year.

This scholarship provides an opportunity for eligible CTE students to reduce financial barriers while gaining the hands-on skills and industry knowledge needed to enter Nevada's workforce.

Students preparing for careers in manufacturing, automotive technology, welding, healthcare, construction and other high-demand fields are encouraged to apply. Scholarship support can help students focus on their education while preparing for meaningful, family-sustaining careers. With the college's fall semester beginning on Aug. 31, the timing is perfect for students to apply.

"The Pennington CTE Scholarship represents an investment in students and in Nevada's future workforce," said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. "By helping students gain valuable technical skills and credentials, this support opens doors to opportunity while strengthening the workforce our communities depend on."
