Western Avenue is scheduled to reopen to two-way traffic before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Crews will then pave the northbound lane of Western Avenue between Timber Oak Trail and 85th Street Tuesday afternoon and the southbound lane Wednesday afternoon, with traffic using the center turn lane and the remaining open lane during work.

This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - Tallgrass Avenue

Traffic will be detoured via 85th Street, Louise Avenue, and Lincoln County Highway 106 (271st Street). Access to residents and businesses along Tallgrass Avenue will be maintained during construction.

The street is anticipated to be reopened to traffic in late November.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - 271st Street (Lincoln County Highway 106)

Traffic will be detoured utilizing Cliff Avenue, 57th Street, and SD Highway 11. Traffic on Cliff Avenue will not be impacted.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
