Elma Wins Two Awards in 2026 from MAE

October 22, 2026

Military & Aerospace Electronics announced the winners of its 2026 Innovators Awards today, and Elma is honored to receive two of them. The award program recognizes companies offering innovative technologies and substantial design solutions for military, aerospace, space, and avionics applications.

Elma's entries this year were focused on small form factor designs based on VITA 90 or VNX+ architecture. The VersaPLUS Deployment Kit is an application-ready system pre-configured with an ARM processor card, with a 320-Watt power supply and chassis manager and maintenance port aggregator. The unit ships loaded with Linux, ensuring access to a broad embedded Linux ecosystem, mitigating risk and ensuring developers feel confident from day one. A gold award was granted for the integrated kit and a silver for the chassis design.

"This overall design effort was multi-national in scope", said Ram Rajan, senior vice president global technologies for Elma Electronic. "Our engineering teams worked as one across several locations to design the various system elements and enable the baseline for an entire product family to follow", he added.

This year's innovations span a broad range of enabling technologies, including embedded computing, counter-uncrewed aircraft systems, directed energy, satellite communications, power electronics, networking, autonomy, electronic test and measurement, assured positioning, navigation and timing, and thermal imaging.
