Parkersburg, W.Va. - Governor Patrick Morrisey today highlighted major tax relief efforts at the Green Supply Depot in Parkersburg, emphasizing the state's commitment to returning money to hardworking West Virginians and strengthening the economy.
"Tax relief has been a top priority since my first day in office," said Governor Morrisey. "By returning $230 million to the hardworking people of West Virginia, we're taking a real step toward a more affordable and competitive state."
The tax relief package includes an across-the-board income tax reduction and alignment of West Virginia's tax code with key provisions of the Trump tax cuts, allowing families and businesses to keep more of what they earn. Lower taxes make the state more competitive, encourage businesses to invest and grow, and help create the kind of environment where job creation can take hold.
West Virginia has seen record-breaking investment announcements totaling more than $12.75 billion over the past six months, along with nearly 12,000 projected jobs, reflecting growing confidence in the state's economic direction.
"We've made real progress, but we're not done," Governor Morrisey said. "Lower taxes make West Virginia more competitive, attract investment, and help create more good-paying jobs. We'll keep pushing to make this state the best place to live, work, and do business."
