OAKLAND, Calif. - Today, FEMA announced an additional $3.3 million in funding for Disaster Case Management services to support more than 3,000 survivors affected by the wildfires and straight-line winds that affected Los Angeles County in January 2025. In total, FEMA has provided more than $13 million for Disaster Case Management services for survivors of this disaster.
The funding continues the Trump Administration's support for Palisades Fire survivors and other Californians rebuilding after disasters. Under President Donald J. Trump's leadership, FEMA is delivering survivor-focused recovery assistance through a locally executed, state-managed and federally supported approach that promotes accountability and ensures taxpayer resources support recovery programs that deliver results for disaster survivors and communities.
The Disaster Case Management Program is a state-managed, FEMA-funded program that connects survivors with case managers, resources and services to support their long-term recovery. Case managers work directly with survivors to identify disaster-related needs, develop and carry out recovery plans, and make referrals for available assistance.
This support can address unmet financial, physical, emotional and spiritual needs and may include referrals for materials, volunteer labor and other recovery resources. The program helps survivors navigate recovery and work toward greater independence.
These awards build on the substantial federal support already delivered for the 2025 wildfires. To date, FEMA has awarded more than $183 million in Individual Assistance to more than 35,000 eligible individuals and households under DR-4856-CA. This includes Continued Temporary Housing Assistance for more than 1,300 applicants.
