Methodist Homes (MHA) hosted an informative supporter event at an iconic Cheshire venue.
The event titled Coffee, Cake and Connection was held at Bramall Hall and led by MHA's Charitable Giving Team and gave visitors an insight into the work MHA does.
28 guests were welcomed by MHA and were given the opportunity to hear about the services MHA offers and how they can get involved.
Guests heard how MHA's local services help older people stay connected, supported and independent, as well as learning more about some of the wider issues facing older people today.
It also provided an opportunity to hear how MHA is making its voice heard in the national conversation about the future of adult social care, including through the Government's Big Conversation on Care and Baroness Casey's review of adult social care.
Alongside the presentations, guests enjoyed tea, coffee and cake before hearing a talk about Bramall Hall and having the opportunity to explore the historic building.
"It's particularly important at the moment that organisations like MHA use our experience and our voice to contribute to the conversation about the future of adult social care. "
Richard Sproson from MHA said: "It was wonderful to welcome so many people to Bramall Hall and spend an afternoon talking about the issues that matter to older people.
"We wanted this event to be informative, but also relaxed and enjoyable - an opportunity for people to meet others, enjoy a cup of coffee and cake, and find out more about MHA and the difference we're making locally.
"It's particularly important at the moment that organisations like MHA use our experience and our voice to contribute to the conversation about the future of adult social care.
"We know that the challenges facing older people won't be solved overnight, but we have an important role to play in making sure the experiences and needs of older people are heard."
The event was part of MHA's Supporter Events programme, which brings people together at venues across the country to learn more about MHA's work and the issues affecting older people.
MHA supports older people through care homes, retirement living and community services, with a focus on dignity, independence and connection. The charity has been supporting older people for more than 80 years.
