Tampa, FL. (September 11, 2025) - The Tampa Police Department is now investigating a homicide after one person died from their injuries in an overnight shooting.
Shortly before 1:00am, Tampa Police Officers responded to a 911 call for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found three people who had been shot. A 21-year-old male and 19-year-old male were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old male was transported in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
Three additional adult males ages 22, 21 and 19 were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.
"No family should have to endure this kind of pain. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this senseless gun violence. This will not be tolerated in our city," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "Our detectives are working diligently to identify and bring those responsible to justice. We need the community's help. If you saw something, heard something, or know something, come forward. Your information could be the key to giving these families the justice they deserve."
At this time, detectives believe this shooting may have stemmed from a previous dispute and this is an isolated incident.
Detectives are actively following leads as the investigation continues.
