Congressman Krishnamoorthi Condemns Militarized Immigration Raids in Downtown Chicago

SCHAUMBURG, IL - Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) issued the following statement after federal immigration agents in camouflage and carrying long guns detained families in downtown Chicago and escalated enforcement at the Broadview ICE facility:

"Marching armed agents through our streets and detaining people based on 'how they look' isn't about making our communities safer. It is a deliberate show of intimidation that spreads fear, destabilizes our communities, and hurts our businesses. We cannot normalize President Trump's militarization of American cities and the targeting of families for political theater - Chicago deserves safety and dignity, not scenes of federal agents hauling children away downtown."
