The City of Concord Fire Department is gearing up for their annual week-long summer youth camp, Camp Inferno. This leadership-based program is designed for high-school aged students and uses skill-based exercises and trainings to instill the values of teamwork, confidence, leadership, and communication.
This year's camp will take place June 22-26, 2026, lasting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at Concord Fire Station 3. There is no cost to participate and lunch will be provided each day.
During this week-long camp, participants will have the opportunity to learn new and exciting skills, like scaling and rappelling from the training tower, performing an aerial climb from a ladder truck, and using extrication tools to cut a vehicle. They will also participate in scenario-based drills that will encourage teamwork, strengthen communication skills, and build confidence in participants' decision-making skills.
Applications are now open for the 2026 camp. Students must currently be in high school or graduate in 2026 to apply. As part of the application process, participants must write a short essay explaining what skills they hope to gain from the camp, what makes a good leader, and why they should be chosen to attend.
