CHANDLER, Ariz. - Chandler City Manager John Pombier has announced the selection of Kristin Maier as Human Resources Director, bringing 26 years of human resources experience to the position.
Maier joined Chandler in 2019, and she has served as the city's acting human resources director since September 2025. In this role, she oversees employee performance and relations, benefits and wellness, classification and compensation, organizational development, recruitment, retirement and employee health and safety programs.
"Kristin brings thoughtful leadership and a collaborative approach that is highly valued across the organization for her work to retain and attract the talented and skilled people who serve our community," said Pombier. "Her extensive human resources experience and institutional knowledge are essential to support our workforce of today and for tomorrow."
Prior to joining Chandler, Maier was the Human Resources Branch Chief for Fairfax County Sheriff's Office (Virginia). She previously served in human resources roles for the cities of Henderson (Nevada) and Dublin (Ohio).
Maier earned a bachelor's degree in human resources from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and a master's degree in human resources from Keller Graduate School of Management (Ohio). She also is a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional, reflecting her senior-level human resources experience.
