Tower Bridge Scheduled for Weekend Closure

Sacramento - Caltrans is alerting motorists about scheduled closures Sunday for the Credit Union SacTown Run hosted by the Sacramento Running Association.

The Tower Bridge (State Route 275) and various on- and off-ramps will be closed to motorists and waterway traffic during the event.

Duration of the event: Sunday, April 12 from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until the last participant crosses the finish line.

Caltrans reminds motorists to exercise caution and avoid distractions when near the event. The event will start on Capitol Mall between 3rd Street and 5th Street in Sacramento, over the Tower Bridge to West Sacramento and return over the Tower Bridge to finish on Capitol Mall.

This is a family event where thousands of participants, spectators and volunteers will be present along the route of the event, as well as hydration and first aid stations. Motorists are also encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
