On July 23, 2026, just after 6:00 p.m., two women were arrested after they were observed attempting to steal from a retail business in the 1100 block of Concordia Avenue.

The officer observed one of the women stealing store merchandise when he intervened outside the store. He identified himself as a Winnipeg Police Officer and attempted to take the suspect into custody. The suspect refused to comply, when the second suspect deliberately interfered and attempted to obstruct the officer from making the arrest, which led to both suspects fleeing the scene.

East District General Patrol Officers attended and located both suspects a short time later nearby, where they were arrested without incident.

A 21-year-old woman is facing charges of Robbery, Resist Peace Officer and Assault a Peace Officer.

A 38-year-old woman is facing a charge of Obstruct Peace Officer.

Both women were released on Undertakings.
