At about 11:45 p.m. on July 24, Columbia Police responded to a weapons incident in the 1400 block of West Worley Street.
A witness told police officers that a man later identified as Glen Lee Parey, 53, of Columbia, was standing near the street and pointing guns at vehicles as they passed by. While police officers were responding, Parey also called 911 and threatened dispatchers and police.
Columbia Police's SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Team also responded to the incident, and Parey was arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault, second-degree harassment, unlawful use of weapons, resisting arrest, misuse of 911 and active warrants. There were no injuries.
