Kids in Parks: Who’s hiding at Homestead National Historical Park

BEATRICE, Neb. - Attention kids of all ages. Come to the Education Center at Homestead National Historical Park on Saturday, August 8 at 10 a.m. and join us in a free ranger-led activity as we talk about the different types of animals that call the park home. Earn a Junior Ranger badge to take home.

Many kinds of animals call the park home. Some of them hunt for their food, while others hide in the woods or the tall grasses of the prairie to avoid predators. What can we learn about these animals just by looking at their fur and their skulls? Did you know we have an animal here at the park that sleeps hanging upside down from a tree? Come learn about this and much more. We hope to be outside, so come dressed for the weather. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended!

Homestead National Historical Park is a unit of the National Park Service, located four miles west of Beatrice, NE. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
