The City of Frederick offices will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday on Thursday, December 25, 2025, and Friday, December 26, 2025, and for the New Year's Holiday on Thursday, January 1, 2026, and Friday, January 2, 2026.
Please reference the following holiday service changes:
Trash Collection Services:
Residential
There will be NO trash collection service on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in observance of the Christmas Holiday.
There will be NO trash collection service on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year's Holiday.
Yard Waste Collection Services:
Residential
There will be NO yard waste collection for NAC8 on Thursday, December 25, 2025, or NAC's 1 and 5 on Friday, December 26, 2025.
There will be NO yard waste collection for NAC8 on Thursday, January 1, 2026, or NAC's 1 and 5 on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Commercial Business Trash Service:
Trash WILL be collected on the normal schedule.
Commercial Business Recycling Service (not RESIDENTIAL):
Commercial Business Recycling WILL be collected on the normal schedule.

Residential Curbside Compost Service
Residential Curbside Compost Service by Compost Crew is shifting for households by one day. Thursday pickup is now on Friday. Friday pickup is now on Saturday.
Housing and Human Services
HHS will be closed on Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26 with the exception of the Community Table. HHS will be closed on Thursday, January 1, and Friday, January 2, with the exception of the Community Table.
The Food Bank will be adding additional hours on Wednesday, December 24, and January 31. In addition to being open 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, we will be open 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on those days.

December 24, 2025: Closing at 2
December 25, 2025: Closed
December 31, 2025: Closing at 2
January 1, 2026: Closed
Parking
Both garage and meter parking will be free on December 25 and December 26, 2025, and January 1 and January 2, 2026.
Note: Every weekend from 8 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday through New Year's Day, parking is free at meters and in parking decks.
