TxDOT hosting public meeting for proposed FM 835 bridge replacement project

LUBBOCK - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) invites citizens to attend a public meeting to view information on a proposed project to rebuild the FM 835 bridge over the North Double Mountain Fork Brazos River, located east of Loop 289 in Lubbock County.

The in-person public meeting includes a presentation and will be held from 5:30-7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 22, in the TxDOT Training Center Mesquite Room, located at 135 Slaton Road, Lubbock, Texas. The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide feedback.

TxDOT staff will be present and provide information, answer questions and take comments on plans for a proposed project to replace the bridge structure and make improvements to the FM 835/Olive Street intersection.

Citizen may also logon to a virtual meeting consisting of a pre-recorded video presentation. The presentation will be posted online at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 22, at www.txdot.gov. Citizens can search for the meeting by entering "FM 835 Bridge Replacement" in the key word search engine.

Public comments can be submitted until Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, by email at [email protected], or by mail to the Lubbock District, Attn: ENV Office/FM 835 Bridge Replacement Project, at 135 Slaton Road Lubbock, TX, 79404.

Advance notice is required, as services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
