City of West Hollywood to Host the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and its LGBTQ+ Advisory Board for a Community Town Hall Forum

The City of West Hollywood will host the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and its LGBTQ+ Advisory Board for a Community Town Hall Forum discussing issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community. This Town Hall event is designed to strengthen trust, improve communication, and address issues uniquely impacting LGBTQ+ individuals in West Hollywood and across Los Angeles County.

The Community Town Hall Forum will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood's Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. No advance registration is required and there is no age limit to attend. Upon arrival, attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions they would like to see addressed during the event. For more information, including parking information, please visit www.weho.org/calendar.

The Community Town Hall Forum will feature Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman and the Los Angeles District Attorney's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board. Nathan Hochman was sworn in as the 44th District Attorney of Los Angeles County in December 2024. Throughout his tenure, Hochman has been focused on improving public safety by pursuing appropriate sentences for violent and serious offenders, while offering counseling and rehabilitation to those whose crimes were motivated by addiction or mental illness. Hochman's office maintained the LGBTQ+ Advisory Board put in place by his predecessor, which provides input on policies, safety, and best practices regarding LGBTQ+ individuals. This forum enables the District Attorney's office to meet community members in person, speak about their current priorities, and listen to community members' comments.

The Forum is co-sponsored by the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the Williams Institute. The Los Angeles LGBT Center was initially founded as "Liberation House" more than 50 years ago by a group of queer activists and has evolved into the largest LGBTQ+ organization in the world. Since 1969, the organization's mission has been to care for, champion, and celebrate LGBTQ+ individuals and families in Los Angeles and beyond. Its programs, services, and advocacy efforts span health, social services and housing, culture and education, and leadership and advocacy. The Williams Institute, founded in 2001, is the leading research center on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy. Its mission is to effectively disseminate research to relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, judges, and the media, to ensure crucial decisions impacting the lives of millions of LGBTQ+ people and families are based on data and facts, not stereotypes.
