BSC to host inaugural Wizard Walk & Fun Run on Sept. 26 during Homecoming Weekend

Bismarck State College is adding a little magic to the 2026 Homecoming Weekend with its first-ever BSC Homecoming Wizard Walk & Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Mystics, witches, wizards and Muggles of all ages are invited to gather their family, friends and colleagues for a 1.5-mile walk or run through the BSC campus. The event begins and ends at the BSC Advanced Technology Center and features interactive, wizard-themed stops along the route.

Registration opens at 9 a.m., with the Wizard Walk & Fun Run beginning at 10 a.m.

The event is open to the public, and all proceeds will directly support Mystics Football and the BSC Student Government Association (SGA).

"We wanted to create something new for Homecoming that brings together our students, employees, alumni and community in a fun way while supporting our Mystics. Whether you walk, run or just come for the magic, we hope people of all ages will join us and help make the Wizard Walk a new BSC Homecoming tradition," said BSC Alumni Development Manager and Wizard Walk Coordinator Bailee Bulman-Hanson.

Participants are encouraged to embrace the theme and come dressed in their best wizard-inspired attire. A costume contest will offer prizes, while interactive magical stations will add entertainment throughout the route. Butterbeer will also be available for purchase at the finish line as an SGA fundraiser.

The first 100 registered participants will receive special Wizard Walk swag, including a commemorative custom BSC Mystics neon wand, Mystics beanie, collectible Wizard Walk pin and other wizard gear.

Registration is $25 for adults ages 18 and older and $15 for youth and non-BSC students. A family rate of $60 is available for groups of four or more participants. Current BSC students can participate for free.
