When Americans must rebuild, the U.S. cement industry must be ready.

From tornadoes that spiral through entire communities with winds gusting at 140 miles per hour to storms bringing softball-sized hail, no region of the U.S. is spared from severe weather. Virtually every American knows someone who has suffered great personal loss in an extreme weather event or has experienced such loss themselves. Devastation has become too commonplace in the U.S.

When hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes strike, America's cement manufacturers want to be standing at the ready to help in the rebuilding process. They want to provide the durable, resilient materials that will stand the test of time and eliminate victims' anxiety of the need to rebuild again from the ground up.

This week alone, some 120-million Americans are under tornado watches. A tornado with winds up to 140 miles per hour hit earlier this week near Hillsboro and Union Center, Wisconsin. And a day later, another barreled through Ann Arbor, Michigan. Damages are still being accounted for.

We're only in April, and forecasters predict up to1,250 tornadoes will touch down in the U.S. this year.

Concrete, made with cement, is a material engineered to protect human life. It is fire-resistant, offers thermal stability, provides rugged physical security, and has long-term structural integrity.

When it comes to rebuilding efforts in any part of the country, one message is clear: American Cement. National Strength.
