Changes to Inspection Stickers Effective January 1, 2026

The State is continuing the modernization of AVIP, so we can continue to increase the efficiency of this very important program, as well as protect the safety of our roads and the cleanliness of the air we breathe.

We value the input from the law enforcement community and have taken steps to respond to your feedback around the inspection stickers issued for all light and heavy-duty vehicles. DMV redesigned the inspection stickers based on your feedback. Effective January 1, 2026.

The changes include:

  • Enlarged numeric expiration dates to enhance visibility.
  • The QC Code was removed from the sticker to increase the numeric size.
