San Antonio Man Sentenced to Over 15 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Dealing

SAN ANTONIO - A San Antonio man was sentenced in a federal court to 190 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine, announced U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons for the Western District of Texas.

According to court documents, Alfredo Landin aka "Fredo," 28, imported large amounts of methamphetamine, which he called "candy," from Mexico, and distributed it to numerous dealers in the San Antonio area. Landin arranged to have drivers deliver 10 or more kilograms of narcotics at a time in hidden compartments. On July 19, 2021, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Texas Department of Public Safety found approximately eight kilograms of methamphetamine and 3.5 kilograms of heroin in a car that was on its way to drop narcotics off to Landin in Indian Creek.

Landin was arrested on April 19, 2024, and pleaded guilty on March 4, 2025. In June, Landin was sentenced to 151 months in a separate case in which he also pleaded guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.

"Alfredo Landin was responsible for importing large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin from Mexico to exploit our communities for financial gain," said U.S. Attorney Simmons. "Thanks to the tireless efforts of our DEA and DPS partners, we were able to interdict a large shipment of narcotics just before it was delivered to Landin, who will now spend more than 15 years in federal prison concurrent with another 12 ½-year sentence he is already serving."

"Coordinated law enforcement efforts are critical to keeping our communities safe and removing those who peddle poison in San Antonio neighborhoods," said Miguel A. Madrigal, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration San Antonio Division. "DEA San Antonio remains relentless in its mission to stay one step ahead of drug traffickers, dismantle criminal networks, and bring those responsible to justice."

The DEA and TX DPS investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Yuen prosecuted the case.
